LTB is a direct result of the XVII Olympic Winter Games in Lillehammer in 1994. For those who remember, it was a golden moment in Norwegian cultural and sports history. For the Olympic movement, it was the high-water mark.
In many ways it was only natural that LTB was given the task of designing, executing the technical design, and building the new exhibition for Norway's Olympic Museum in 2016. One of our employees also was assigned to be the head curator for the exhibition.
In the 1980s, AVAB Norge AS and CAC Oslo AS were the country's leading companies in the rental of lighting, stage, and sound systems, respectively. These companies were central to the production and execution of the ceremonies and cultural festival in 1994 Olympics. Both companies early on established contact with the local theatre and radio community in Lillehammer.
A key person here was Børre Linberg, with an office and fax machine in his childhood bedroom. Thanks to the demand from the Olympic organization, Olympic sponsors, and the local cultural life, it was a kick-start for Børre, and he quickly became part of AVAB Norge AS, with his own branch for rentals and eventually his own workshop for larger and smaller installations.
In 1997, AVAB CAC AS was established after a merging of the two companies. The installation business was strengthened, and the number of employees and scope of assignments grew out of the previous premises, moving the business to Hagevegen 11, Lillehammer, where we are now located.
On April 1, 2014, AVAB CAC AS changed its name to Bright Norway as part of the Bright Group. The change involved a merger of several companies and became a rapidly growing and market-leading business in both rental, sales, and installation. Another change of ownership took place in 2020 when Creative Technology (CT) bought all Bright Group's operations in the Nordics.
At the time of the ownership change in 2020, Børre chose to withdraw from the company and started his own operations within the same markets as CT. LTB was a reality. He was joined by several experienced employees and solid partners in construction, contracting, and engineering and acquired a number of new and previous suppliers.
Two years after the company's start-up, CT's installation and service department was acquired by LTB in its entirety, and former colleagues became colleagues again. LTB has since 2022 consolidated and strengthen its position in the market and be the preferred partner for contractors, cultural centres, hotels, museums, and those seeking our services.
