The DIN-8SWU8 is an 8-channel universal switch module designed to control nondimmable lighting loads, switched loads, and motors. The eight output channels can be configured for independent load control or combined to support up to four bidirectional motors. The module features eight digital inputs, allowing contact closures and applied voltage signals to be used for local control or to trigger events with or without a control system.

Universal Load Switching
The DIN-8SWU8 supports 100–230VAC applications, simplifying specification and deployment across global installations. Each channel is rated for up to 10A resistive loads and supports a variety of load types, including incandescent, magnetic ballast (MLV), electronic ballast (ELV), LED, self-ballasted LED, and motor loads up to 1 HP, depending on operating voltage. Flexible load assignment enables channels to be configured independently or paired for controlling up to four bidirectional motors. Crestron Home enables advanced load assignment for individual relays and bidirectional motor control pairs.

Override Input
Dedicated override inputs allow external contact closures to override the control system and recall preset output states when required. Override settings can be configured through programming or the front panel.

Digital Inputs
Eight digital inputs support dry contacts, wet contacts, and applied voltage signals, including 24VAC. The inputs can be configured for local load control with maintained, momentary, or dual-momentary operation to support bidirectional motor control. 24VAC signal support enables integration with HVAC control systems. The inputs can also be incorporated into a control system program to support advanced button events, including tap, double-tap, and hold actions.

Module to Module Connectors
Module to Module connectors quickly connect Cresnet and Override connections between modules without the need for additional wiring or tools.

Cresnet Connectivity
Cresnet network connectivity enables seamless integration with a Crestron control system, while an external Cresnet power supply (sold separately) can provide operating power.

Local Setup and Configuration
Front-panel controls enable local setup, configuration, testing, and verification without software.

Pass-Through Spring Terminals
Spring-release terminal connectors simplify wiring and provide secure connections for long-term reliability. Integrated pass-through connections enable quick expansion and reduce the need for external jumpers between modules.

Bidirectional Motor Control
The DIN-8SWU8 supports bidirectional motor control for motorized shades, screens, shutters, and other reversible motor applications. Adjacent output channels can be paired to control the direction of a motor, supporting up to four bidirectional motors per module. Pairing is configured through programming or the front panel. In bidirectional motor mode, the paired relays are interlocked to prevent the open and close outputs from being energized simultaneously.

Energy Monitoring
Estimated energy monitoring tracks runtime and energy usage for each channel based on a programmed load value and relay on-time.

DIN Rail Installation
The DIN-8SWU8 is designed to snap onto a standard DIN rail for installation in a wall mount enclosure. Wiring is clearly accessible from the front of the device for easy installation and servicing. All setup controls and indicators are positioned on the center front panel. When installed in an enclosure utilizing 35 mm cutouts, the DIN-8SWU8's front panel stays accessible while the connections are concealed.
